Sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes to lubricate the wheels of creativity. New Orleans is one of my favorite places to visit because of the rich culture, friendly people and the wealth of artistic inspiration. It also doesn't hurt that I'm a world renowned food critic--in my head of course. Between critiquing the cocktails at Dominica and enjoying a snow cone on the trolley, I'm snapping scenes of NOLA that move me. These photos act as wells of inspiration, that I draw upon when a creative drought is near. I look back at these images and can recall the euphoria that I felt when I took the first sip of my Cafe du Monde Cocoa. Photography is so much more than just pretty pictures. It's a switch that can turn on delicate sensory experiences. For that I'd gladly document all my travels with the knowledge that I'll taste my adventures in these posts years after the memory has faded.
